Material Issues in the Blossoming World of AI

Today, AI is becoming ever more present in supply chains, administration, customer service and daily activities of almost every sector.

XR has the potential to revolutionize various industrial sectors by offering more engaging, secure, and inclusive training and assistance for complex tasks—enabling more people to acquire the skills needed to perform them. However, creating such XR experiences remains overly complex, time-consuming, and expensive, limiting their widespread adoption in industries that often lack the expertise or resources to develop and deploy them.

The main objective of MOTIVATE XR is to create a world-leading XR tool suite for collaborative authoring, publishing, and experiencing, designed to support training and assistance in industrial operations such as assembly, manufacturing, maintenance, and dismantling. This groundbreaking, open, tightly integrated, and highly interoperable solution is intended for a wide range of users—including large industrial companies and independent technicians—without requiring programming or software development skills.

MOTIVATE XR provides an end-to-end solution that streamlines the entire authoring and deployment workflow through innovative portable 3D scanning, digital twin modeling, no-code authoring tools, and next-generation XR experiences, including a European-developed smart headset. The project is currently validating its results through five ambitious pilot programs across sectors such as aerospace, home appliances, aluminum, electric distribution, and hybrid human-robot collaboration.

YAGHMA develops a Responsible XR Framework that draws on industry experience within MOTIVATE XR to:

  • Provide guiding principles that ensure MOTIVATE XR develops ethical, user-centered, and risk-aware XR solutions.

  • Align these principles with emerging policies, regulations, and industry standards, forming a strategy rooted in ethics.

  • Define governance mechanisms and controls to operationalize these principles throughout the XR development lifecycle.

  • Build a diverse professional team and expert advisory board, strengthen data policies and controls, and establish procedures for the ethical procurement and development of XR technologies.
