BORRIS – Building Openness, Responsibility and Societal Value in Research and Innovation
BORRIS (Building Open and Responsible Research and Innovation in Slovenia) supports the National Institute of Chemistry (NIC) in strengthening openness, transparency, ethics, stakeholder engagement, and societal value across its research, innovation and knowledge valorisation activities.
The project aims to foster institutional transformation by embedding these principles into governance structures, research practices, innovation processes, knowledge transfer and organisational culture. Through organisational diagnostics, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and co-creation activities, BORRIS helps NIC identify strengths, address barriers, and develop practical measures to support long-term institutional change.
A key feature of the project is the active involvement of researchers, support services, leadership, industry representatives, and other stakeholders in shaping future policies and practices. This participatory approach ensures that institutional changes are grounded in real needs and aligned with both scientific excellence and societal expectations.
YAGHMA contributes to the design and implementation of stakeholder engagement activities, institutional diagnostics, training programmes, collaborative workshops, and guidelines and strategy design that support the integration of openness, responsibility, and societal relevance throughout the research and innovation lifecycle.
